Android Google maps = voice control and navigation. 3D maps. GPS full nav. is very responsive. Google adds something new about every month.
and highly up to date. thats the bigger part for me
'Google Maps Navigation' Android App
Thanks, Rambler and John – your 'Quick Reply' answers prompted me to explore further. Here's the kind of answer I'd suggest:
ADAM's GPS + 'Google Maps Navigation' Android App = A fully-featured voice-controlled sat-nav system – see http://www.google.com/mobile/navigation/ for more info.
Mutual Aid: Links r'good, m'kay?
For me, the point of forums like ours is mutual aid – we support each other, volunteering our knowledge and experience to help one another. That's why my longer posts tend to have several embedded hyperlinks, so interested readers can find out more with a single click. So I'd like to suggest that, if you're answering somebody's question from a position of knowledge, that you please consider including, at least, a single link, as in the suggested answer above – it's just so much more helpful to your fellow NotionAddicts to tap straight into your knowledge than to have to go hunting for more info without that generous benefit.
Lying to NotionAddicts
Hey killer2021, I’m with Rambler on this: GREAT IDEA, I love it – do please make it so! Given Rohan’s slightly censorious attitude to criticism, you may not be allowed to market your ‘Android Marketplace’ ADAM app through the Genesis Marketplace – but post a sideloading link here at NotionAddicts, and no doubt it’ll prove Very Popular Indeed!
But about this “I aint going to lie” turn of phrase, which I've seen a couple or more times here recently – is this something new? Do we have to infer anything you don't preface with “I aint going to lie” MAY BE a lie? Is this a common turn of phrase among a particular age group, ethnicity, or culture, where (by inference) lying to each other is relatively commonplace? (The only relevant entry in Urban Dictionary seems to be Lil' fo Real.) Or is it no more significant a way of adding emphasis than the more well established “To tell the truth, ...”?
im not gonna lie? just an idiom for im going to be honest, especially when a bit embarrassed at the admission. It's pretty innocuous and often used in the states.
Yeah, it's a pretty common statement here in the States, particularly in the Midwest and South.
*EDIT* And since you were complaining about links, here you go.
Thanks, mada and vitaedrinker. And many thanks for the proper Urban Dictionary link, vitaedrinker – an interesting read indeed. Fascinating how definitions 5-8 get UD community support, while expressing derision for people who use the phrase "I'm not gonna lie"; and in pointing this out I am NOT deriding killer2021 – let 'Freedom of Expression' reign! (as enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights). Sorry if my Mutual Aid suggestion came over as 'complaining' – I've been a hyperlinks fanboy since tinkering with Hypercard from 1987 onwards (one of free software's Great Leaps Forward), and now we've the web, plus linking is so easy at NotionAddicts, so I'm all for raising our collective game by popularising the inclusion of links in our posts.
Just download and install it from http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/ not having the android market is really a non-issue
I have posted a link to a market apk on the forum. once adam is released and the Devs start getting them this will be one of the first things that get done. It is already working on the G tablet and the internal specs are very close. It won't take much to get it working. For people here and over at xda this is a non issue.
I do think this will hurt the sales a little for the normal users.
