Question ADB driver will not work

reading the sticky closed writeup about ADB driver setup, i followed those steps. Now, Windows 7 won't let me update the driver, as it tells me, the folder doesn't contain a compatible device driver.

Research told me that the VID / PID numbers might be different.I tried to find them out, but Windows installed a general pertable device driver that doesn't tell me any Hardware ID's or so.

    I tried
    %SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0955&PID_7100
    %CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&MI_01

    with VID 7000 and 7100.

Anybody knows how to find out what's wrong?

Yes, those are the correct VID/PIDs. But if Windows already installed its default fallback device, it will keep the ADB drivers from installing correctly.

Its helpful to download USBDeview to see exactly what is going on, and then to uninstall the device that is getting in the way (right click on it in USBDeview and select uninstall). This post at NVidia covers the important points:
1st: Adam Pixel Qi - Wifi - 3G (use it every day). 2nd: Adam LCD - Wifi (development)
