Druss - if you place an order with a UK based company before the change and the item is delivered after the change, then the old rate should apply. But because this is VAT charged at the point of entry to the UK, the rate prevailing on the day it flies in will apply.
Best way to avoid bank charges is to keep cash stuffed in the mattress

Druss, it's actually the 4th of Jan that the Vat rate changes not the 1st but the calculation does still stand because nobody's Adam will arrive in the country before that date. /pedant mode off Are you 100% sure about the DHL processing fee I thought it was 2% or 1.25 whichever is greater for private individuals. Exchange rate values will most likely make for a bigger difference though.

If I remember correctly, Adams are manufactured in a factory in China and are shipped from China. What country should for a box "importing from"? China?

If NI was in china, we could say to Ni, that they can put out the box, 30% about the total price, then it was sure that they don´t stop the package in customs, but I don´t thing that this will have possible.

Just got the letter from TNT yesterday on taxes and charges

PQI wifi only model has incurred

VAT £71.37
DPF £15.00 deferment proc. fee
Net £86.37

TNT have applied Vat on the DPF @ 20% (£3)

so total is £89.37
