Beause of new Google Web App Store do we still need to Root our Adams?

    Adamites
My Adam just cleared Australian customs and I hope to have it in my hot little hands in a few days. All the stuff about Rooting appears to be quite old (NIH, GoodeReader, etc). And is before Google relaunched its improved web Interface for Apps: https://market.android.com/ does this mean I don't need to Root anymore? Can Free & Paid apps be installed from the Web interfcae to non-rooted Adams?

Good luck with trying it. I have not rooted my ADAM yet and I cannot figure out how to get set up on the Google market yet.

i know this sounds old but you guys have to try putting customs roms in there. it will not only change your adam 100% but it will also make you so happy that you bought the adam. when i was using stock rom, i was dissapointed with my adam. now im using beast rom and its so easy to implement and makes my adam much much much more wonderful.

Simple answer is that to get your device recognised in the Market.android.com, you have to log onto the android market on your device first...and that doesn't come on stock Adam!

You will have to use a custom rom. Just load beast rom.

No downsides, makes the Adam 100x better and ... that's about it. :-D

1 downside: you lose your warranty if you root / install custom ROM

3 answers to the Warranty question ...

It has already been said (unofficially) that Notion Ink would still support hardware problems whatever

You can always re-flash back to the stock ROM and your warranty will be valid.

Notion Ink Support is pretty non-existent anyway, so your Warranty would probably run out before you get any response from them anyway.

For me, flashing the Beast ROM turned the Adam from an expensive doorstop into a useful device. I will give the Stock Notion Ink ROM a try again when they produce one that actually has things in it and works.
