I don't think I agree 100% with Rohan on that one. Saw this post on NIH:
I am inclined to agree that the resolution and memory seem to be lacking. Plus, I'm sure all of the other big manufacturers have tried to leverage getting HC from Google. If they aren't getting it, why would Google give it out to NI? Google probably wouldn't risk alienating their top tier OEMs by giving out HC to NI.I wish he would have mentioned something about how NI plans to be competitive with the onslaught of tablets entering the market. With the lowered cost of the 1st gen iPad, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Playbook, etc., there's going to be pretty stiff competition, especially since the costs are pretty competitive. I understand that a lot of the Android based tablets are pretty similar and what sets Adam apart is their OS (and hardware with PQ) but it seems like Adam is destined to be a small niche market since the other big players have an established distribution channel.
I'm sure that the people at NI have their hands tied with updating their software but I wonder if there is any planning for hardware updates. Many of the upcoming tablets are bumping up to the 1280x800 resolution. I wonder if NI has any plans for this increase. In extension, I wonder if PQ is planning this. Also, I know this point has been hashed out but the storage capacity might be another issue. With 16GB as the new unofficial standard, it would be nice to see some kind of storage bump. Specs wise, the lower resolution and storage capacity might deter potential consumers.
Hopefully Rohan will comment on this soon......
i really think pre order 3 will be handled alot better.
Good to see a post that all are shipped. Now we are at googles mercy for honeycomb
