Google to delay Honeycomb release

Google has decided not to release the Honeycomb source code for the foreseeable future. It's doesn't mean that it wont be available in the future though.....

Google says it will delay the distribution of its newest Android source code, dubbed Honeycomb, at least for the foreseeable future.

Well, that's a bloody shame. To the community for HC roms.

Shame, wonder how easy it would be to port the code if the ubuntu tablet OS comes out...

They should open the market for tablets without honeycomb if this is the way google are planning to go.

Actually this might indeed be the only way to get it, unless the community makes a miracle, that is.

Unfortunately, devs need this source code to make a real Honeycomb ROM. We won't see Honeycomb, whether officially from NI or from a dev, until this code is released.

no not really. i put beast rom on my adam and i love it. it was really easy to do also.

Yeah they have realised smaller players are developing more and more devices and now want to tighten control so the big players get exclusivity which is probably what the big players are moaning about and want! Sad that it might go that way as could mean the end for smaller guys in the business due to nobody wanting to buy their product if they know they have to wait months for a decent platform. I know what I would do if i really want something and that's not buy a product which might be half decent many months afterwards as might as well go for the better product initially...
