Why I'm buying the Xoom over Adam

No worries and thanks for not taking me calling your chosen device as a "toy" as a term to be jumped on.

With that said, what will you be using your Xoom for? In all this "I hate NI!" or "I love Xoom!" it seems that the idiosyncratic nature of the integration of the device into the life of an individual has been ignored. So, what are you using it for?

In fact, I'll think that I'll start a thread for that.

All kinds of things - for work, organizing, app developing (learning), I love photography, reading, similar to what you will use your laptop for (of course it does not fully replace your laptop) I believe eventually tablets will take over laptops thats just were the trend is going.People want something that can quickly get what they want and not just get them the info but the experience of using it is what makes tablets attractive.

The reason that I assign the current suite of tablets (including i-gadgets) to "toy" status is that their work applications are fairly limited. User experience is fairly limited in that regard since it's all about productivity.

Regardless, I started the thread in Technology. One hopes that there will be some productive posts...

From a purely technical standpoint, the two tablets are roughly equal. However, the Xoom has a more PC-like feel to it and a much more open ecosystem, while the Adam has a friendlier price and more software customization.I like them both.

Glad to hear that Victah, mine is coming on Monday unless the bad weather delays it I will get it on Tuesday.At least if anyone of us gets a DOA we can get an exchange quickly rather than sending it to india.
