I'll be honest, I've been following Notion Ink since Summer of last year. I must say, the Adam was (still is), the tablet of my dreams. The hardware was perfect, bar none. Two full USB ports, HDMI, Micro USB, a beautiful curve, a 3.2MP swivel camera, and a Pixel Qi display. I was completely sold. When I saw the Eden UI, and how intuitive it was, I was convinced beyond a reasonable doubt. But, as pre-orders came and went, I noticed that people were having troubles with shipping, trying to find out where their Adam was, and NI support seemed useless to many people. Not only that, but Rohan's blog posts, which are the only way we got (and still get) updates, seemed to linger. Even now, it has been three weeks without an update. I'm sure they are hard at work no doubt at Honeycomb. Anyway, I've also seen tons of complaints of lackluster battery life, and forced closes on Eden, and it seems that most people have installed EdenX. While these problems themselves are things I could deal with, the real killer was the actual launch date. I know NI is a startup, and they have a lot of things to get setup still. But as of now, they are only producing the Adams in batches and pre-orders. We don't know when the next round of ordering will be, or how long it will take to clear customs, ship and then arrive.
In short, I'm buying a Xoom. I've pre-ordered the Wifi version and it should be here next week. I'm okay with this, because I know that once Notion Ink gets all the startup issues figured out, and they begin making large profits, that they can be able to enter the mainstream market, and work on future products. I wish Notion Ink the best of luck, and will be constantly watching the blog and these forums for updates. But for now, I will stick with the Xoom. Because support demands it.
I'd love to hear what you think, and about your experiences with Notion Ink.
