Very lame. The officially recommended forum by NotionInk, ie this one has no value for its members. Adam had better walk on water.

This is an update on Rohan's most recent blog. Appears there is still hope.
[Update: Pre-Order will continue for long, its just that the members will be given highest priority. So don't worryWe can probably expand the system for those who post on this one, but I need to check technically how to still distinguish them from the new members!]
Keeping fingers crossed and credit card next to computer!
Some of you are fickle.
Seriously, don't worry about it. I don't see the big deal about getting one later (by later I mean a week or two). I have reconciled myself to early January for mine.
If it's not in my hand February I might change my opinion.

Rohan just posted an Update

I always hated practice in scool when an extra grades are given for "participation". Even if you understand the subject but don't ask questions shouldn't put you in a lower category. I might be on the list since I did posted once some time ago. I hope the pre pre order list is automatic based on emails list provided. I did followed this blog for more than a month or two. I also hope that letting limited number of people to pre order first is due to "recognition" factor and not due to inability to manufacture enough units to satisfy everyone.
My concern is a technical support. With all willingness in a world to produce a defect free unit there is always a chance to get a DOA or a unit with some hardware malfunctioning. Should I ship it back to India or they will have a distribution centers here, in US?
Here is why I think people are scrambling right now. If you can recall the numbers from the Rohan himself There where 4500+ logo entries and 6000+ developer of which may want more than one for development purposes. If you consider that some of the logo people may be developers so to be conservative that would give 8000+ people pre-ordering before there is any real press. Let say that With googles announcement they mention notion ink at all the number could easily jump to 100,000+ if it is a Google sanctioned tablet device which market access. The galaxy tab has sold 1 million devices in less than 2 months and it is nothing more than a large phone with a few optimized app with disable phone functionality here in the U.S. So a true tablet with a unique UI would cause a feeding frenzy. So if you are #100,001 and have to wait an extra 30days for the hot device and you have been there since the beginning it would be a little frustrating.
I'm with Valkor regarding the defects. I have also been following the Launch of the Archos internet tablet with interest. There is a lot of bad things happened there that could really hurt a new starter.
Definitely impressive with the way fans are getting their due. How about notion addicts? There are people out there who many not have posted in the blog but, would have been following it up! Rohan should consider including the "addicts" on the pre-order list!
