Adam and NAS, Virtual Machines, and Remote Desktop software

Can Adam connect to a WiFi NAS?

Can it run VirtuaBox? How about Remote Desktop Software like GoToMyPC or PCAnywhere?

I know this may be asking a lot from such a little tablet, but wouldn't it be awesome?

Your first question - can it connect to an NAS? If you set up Samba shares, yes... ES File explorer will connect to SMB (I use it regularly to pass files between computer and phone.

I have never seen it run a virtual machine environment.

There are good clients for SSH and Remote desktop... My personal favorite is Wyse PocketCloud RDP/VNC, but there are others. Connects on my Nexus One but the screen is too small to be usable. Thus the need for a tablet. :-D

Indeed this is one of the reasons I bought an Adam. As I've now gotten a job working as an IT Consultant, I'm RDPing into servers constantly, and the ability to do this via wifi/3g on the go and when I'm onsite is huge.

As for VMs I dunno that it will be able to do this..

Hey, thanks for that tip! Remote access is something I wanted to try, but hadn't gotten around to, until now. After seeing your post I got TeamViewer, and it seems to work well.

One question, harvey. It seems that the android version can't do everything yet, such as file transfers. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

    Cheers,
    Mike
