Can anyone report NI to the News Papers or News

Since NI don't have a location here in the U.S it wouldn't make since for someone here to report them to the news paper or news, but I’m wondering if anyone close to them have reported their practice to the news paper or TV news to see if we can get some type of service here.

We all see the spread sheet is just growing, we're reading on many cancelling orders, some still on the fence, others losing hope. NONE of us would probably blink an eye about time delay if NI was up front an honest, coming from a new small company, you think they would show some transparency, since we're all in the PO it would have been a growing pain for all to see and understand the problem a small company out of India is facing with a Young Team as well, people like to root for the underdog and see them rise to the TOP, but with silence it's just as bad as lying because you figure why tell the truth, when we can make them keep guessing.

When Rohan got married that would a real reason for him not to be posting on the blog, but since he's came back. 1 post with empty promise.

Give us the reason why some PO2 got their orders when some PO 1.5 haven't? I'm in the PO2 and I’m pissed for the PO1.5

Most of us wouldn't blink an eye if we saw our money was still on our account, but yesterday I got my credit card bill to pay on a product I don't even have nor know WHEN I will have it.

So I think if we have to take that spread sheet and pull some threads or get some internet signatures and have someone send it to many local news paper in and around NI's area that would be great.

I don't know about reporting NI to any newspaper!

I signed up for the pre-order because I genuinely liked what NI had to offer in comparison to others that were available in the market at the time of my ordering. Although I ordered in PO2, I had been following the blog since almost April 2010. In the meantime, I have gifted an Apple iPad to a family member and not bought one for myself!

I also think I understood that a small start up from India with personnel who may or may not be very experienced running international level logistics will face certain problems.

I am prepared to wait for my Adam, but I agree with the OP that remaining incommunicado will do damage to the company in the longer term, once there are options available in the market. There may be several 'guests' in this forum and others who may be thinking about PO3: however, the hue and cry that we have raised in this forum about poor communication from NI will obviously make them sit up and think.

For that reason, I think NI is desperate to go for PO3 - this will give them a fully paid up 'captive' clientele who may otherwise not be inclined to wait for NI Adam say, if they went to a tablet store, found Xoom, Asus EEE pad, the samsung 10.1" etc on the display, ready to be taken away and a photograph of Adam, saying shipping will take 8-10 weeks. IMHO, I think NI Adam will rush into PO3 in order to beat the Asus EEE pad/Samsung 10.1" release/availability widely in stores worldwide and online. God forbid if the logistics and systems and processes that have been so evidently lacking in PO1, 1.5 and 2 resurface during PO3 - but I have a sinking feeling that it will.

I genuinely want NI to do well - I am an Indian and this is perhaps the first time that India, with its vast population, has come up with a genuinely innovative idea. The usual refrain re: Indian (no doubt exceptionally talented) software programmers and coders is that they are 'back room boys' and can only take orders and do things up as requested. They will not come up with something innovative.

NI Adam has shattered this belief by being a genuine start-up success story. I wish RS and team well, but they seriously need to sit up and do something re: how they communicate to their clients.

RS and team will find it worthwhile to remember that the community of 'Adam fanboys (uurrgghhh, I hate to use the word)' is likely to be pretty limited. The Adam fans have probably already got their hands on an Adam. Most of the clientele from here on will not be fanboy/geeks who will get excited re: being a part of the 'birth' of Adam, so to speak. Most clientele from here on would be people who simply want a Tablet and will do a google search for "Adam reviews" and base their decision on what they read on the internet.

NI wake up before its too late.
    Type of Adam: PixelQi + Wifi + 3G + 900/2100 MHz
Order Date: 10/02/2011. No tracking number received! NI status: "Shipping under process" since March 11th.

I like what you said.... i cannot find a better way to explain it !

You got the point at 100 % ....

Now i wonder what happen next (PO3,4,)... how "fast" these tablet will be sell ?
In Canada, the Viewsonic G are available for 300 $ (yess.... available... 1 week shipping... no GPS, no PQI, but a tablet in the hand). Also Pricy Xoom and Samsung...
It seem that another one "promising" from ASUS will come... a serious competitor.

People will have the choice very soon. And as you said, NI will probably missed the boat because of how they act with their "waiting" customers.

There product are very inovative (PQi)... but hard to get... very hard... on the worst, impossible to contact them when problems accure. It seem that they hidding until the storm pass.

not good for the future of NI.

I wonder if they will be there and CES... and if the media that will interview NI will be aware of all the PO's problems...

    @philly0128:

As one of the volunteers who manage the spreadsheet (and a PO1.5 who ordered 6 days before you did), I dunno what you are talking about. Daily, more people are reporting the receipt of their Adams. You reported that you received yours on 25 March.

The number of canceled orders is far less than 1% of the total orders reported on the spreadsheet. And, surprise!, lots of people who got their Adams failed to come back to report that they received them on the spreadsheet. Look at the left-hand column of the spreadsheet, you will see (usually in RED font) the two words, "Please update." We put that there when the person has not updated their entry in more than 35 days. (If I find someone posting on NIB, NIH, or NA who has not reported in, I send him an email or PM requesting that he/she update the spreadsheet.)

Yes, there ARE indeed problems, and some people are suffering. And they are VERY vocal. But, NI is a start-up and NI's people are still learning the process. NI recently learned that they cannot ship 3Gs to some countries (China), that customs in some countries (India) make it far too difficult for NI to ship there. There are STILL some PO1 & PO1.5 Adams stuck in China customs, and NI is simply trying to get them back rather than fight over getting them shipped. NI had problems getting enough PQi screens from Pixel Qi, Inc. to fill the orders, which slowed down the production process. NI had production problems they did not expect. NI's manufacturer ran low on US 3G modules, which slowed things down. NI decided to change manufacturers because of "quality control" issues. I could go on, but you get the picture.

I hate to ask people to give it a few more weeks, but . . . yeah, give it a few more weeks.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Don't get me wrong Philly and Zelduh - I totally am angry and frustrated with NI too!

From the date I ordered to the date that Rohan posted his last blog, I never once got on to any website and crib about delays. I did not even register for this site until the day after Rohan's final deadline - the blog at NI site where he proclaimed that we SHOULD receive tracking numbers by COB on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and there was no tracking number and no courtesy email from NI saying, "boys and girls, chill. Order numbers x to y are stuck for what ever reason and you should receive more information in 2.5 weeks (In fact, this is all I ask for - I am happy to still wait for the Adam!)".

The lack of information is what gets my goat. For eg, there is a person called 'Tina0909' on this forum who claims to be official NI support. However, if you look at her (?his) posts on this forum, they stop with saying, "post this here only" or "post that there only" or "I am sorry that you have to go through what you are going through. Give me some time and I will get back to you".

I asked for her intervention and she (?he) sent me a PM saying "give me some time and I will get back to you" - that was 4 days back and I can actually see her (?him) online many a time - but no response so far.

Start up or no start up, when the CEO of NI says that ALL Adams have been shipped and you don't get to hear about its whereabouts for 10 days, then surely people have a good reason to feel aggrieved?

The other point served by Rohan's claim is this: "We have sent them all out. If you haven't got it, its not our problem anymore. We wash our hands off it. And if you are still persistent and silly enough to keep emailing us, we will simply ignore your emails, because we have work to do and get PO3 ready"!!

I agree about the lack of communication. I cannot defend it. This is the biggest problem that Rohan and NI have. If I were Rohan, I would have a few people speaking to the customers (not just Rohan and the disembodied "Tina0909"). I would have an ombudsman dealing with the problems.

And I would certainly have learned by the second PO, that sales should not roll out simultaneously across the world, but by country or international region. At least, that is, until I could staff the company with regional specialists.

I assume you know that NI's forum is operational now. I recommend that you create a Facebook account and then join NI's Forum at:

    Check this : http://www.notionaddicts.com/forums/...problems-there....

And the NI Forum they create, don't have any place to add issue about PO1,2,3,4...

I suspect they will delete all post regarding PO issue. OR simply disregard them (ignore).

I log-in their Forum... and can't find where i can publish my "help needed regarding PO"
