wifi - unable to scan for networks

Please point me in the right direction if there is already a thread on this issue. I searched but could not find one.

I was having virtually no issues with my Adam apart from forced closes which I learned to live with, until last night when I turned it off and turned it back on again and found that I could not get WiFi to connect. (I can connect with 3g)

When I select "Turn on WiFi", it ticks the box, attemps a scan but reports "Unable to scan for Networks" after about 30 secs and then turns the WiFi option back to unticked.

So far in order to try a fix, I have done a full reset:

1. Wiped the cache partition
2. Wiped data/facrtory reset
3. Re-ran to the original settings using the download.bat in the Windows_PQ update
4. Ran the OTA update on 3g so I am now on build NIP20140211
5. and just in case I also reset my router

but still no WiFi access...

I'm all out of ideas so help would be appreciated

OK it's fixed, don't really know how. I downloaded a little free app from the market called wifi analyser and as soon as I opened it it found my server. I was then able to connect.

Maybe this will help someone else.

Scratch that fix, it was just concidental... as soon as I turned it off and on again the WiFi is gone. It seems it came on randomly in that instance, nothing to do with WiFi Analyser. I have been having the same scenario of "unable to scan for networks " since.

Anybody else have this issue?

Is this actually a NI support thread, or is it a "just submit an issue and hope someone can answer it"

Am I going to get any acknowledgement from NI re this issue?

I think my Adam has the same problem like yours, at least for not connecting to WiFi. I can only connecto to my WiFi, if it's not secured.

I was about to start a similar thread , then my Adam died , so i have bigger issues for now . i m able ( when Adam was alive ) to connect to my own network , password protected ( so you cant use a password ? ) , but i could nt figure how to scan for a network , because i want to make my wifi connect blind , and only able to connect to it because i knew its name , id want to enter name , and scan for it , find it and enter password , but for life of me , i could nt figure how to do that . It also seems , im open to opinions on this , Adam has an inferior wifi/network card , as compared to my 5 ? year old laptop . I can get at least two blocks away , with no houses in the way , and still be connected with my laptop , with Adam tho , its basically just around the yard , and maybe a few yards up the street .

I found that getting wifi fixer off the market and running it will fix your wifi issues. Afterward I turned it off and keep it just in case I have the same issue. So far I've never had another wifi issue.
