So the rumors from long ago said that the Adam can have Ubuntu and google chromium on it. Is this true? Also, what OS does it come with?

It comes with Eden O.S. which is a highly customize version of android 2.2(froyo) with parts of 2.3(gingerbread). No other OS has been successfully used as far as I know.

Thanks. So eden can run android apps obviously, but some are customized toward Eden correct? How is the selection so far? I believe that the marketplace specifically for Eden is called genesis. How is that coming along? Are there major developers creating apps for the NI adam, such as EA games and netflix (to name a few) do for iProducts?
Here's my take on it, having followed these forums pretty closely for the last several weeks. It seems that Honeycomb (Android 3.0, for tablets) is going to be available sooner than Notion Ink originally thought. So nobody around here seems very sure how much further Eden will be developed once Honeycomb is ported to the Adam, in several weeks to a month or two or so. Already you can (with a little effort) get access to the Android Marketplace, and almost all of those apps will run on the Adam. It won't be too long before those and many other apps are ported to Honeycomb, and Adam should be able to run those.
I think Eden still has some potential for running multiple apps side-by-side, but in general, lots of people favor apps that take better advantage of the tablet format. I also doubt it'll be that long before someone successfully boots Ubuntu, so that will be an option also. There are already a pretty good selection of apps available to make Adam quite useable.

Don't mean to come off as an asshat, but to be politically correct and to prevent future confusion, Eden is not an OS, it's a third party UI (User Interface) which runs on top of Android 2.2.
@linuxbz: What makes you say Honeycomb is coming soon (just out of curiosity, I don't know anymore about it than you do I'm sure). The way I see it, Eden needs to be re-written to run on Honeycomb (since it appears that NI plans to continue on with the Eden project), as well as fixing up all the existing bugs on it currently. While I'm sure flashing and porting a Honeycomb ROM will be quick once we get our hands on it, I'm not totally sure how quick NI will be to release it officially.
Well Honeycomb is here and were told we will be upgraded to it as soon as NI have developed an OTA upgrade. I would not have ordered my Adam unless NI had promised the Android 3 OS for it. I too think that Eden will possible be a casualty due to Honeycomb but we will have to wait and see. Perhaps pre-order 2.0 customers will get Honeycomb out of the box as the delivery date has been put back a few days. Who knows?

@brennanyama: I'm guessing that NI is or has looked at the work that will be needed to run Honeycomb on Adam hardware, which they have already stated they will do ASAP. So, where do they place their focus? Continuing to develop Eden on 2.2/2.3 (kind of a dead end)? Essentially abandoning Eden to get Honeycomb out faster? Or simultaneously working on Honeycomb/Eden and waiting longer to upgrade?
In any of the above scenarios, I'm sure that we will have a Honeycomb option soon from NIH. It will probably fail to support at least some of Adam's hardware. So Adam users WILL have a Honeycomb option soon, and a more integrated Honeycomb later. Also, of course, there is the hope that each bug squash on 2.2/2.3 will make it easier, at least, to make Adam work with Honeycomb. The chance of an NI Honeycomb upgrade inside of a couple of months is probably over-optimistic, though. But there is always hope. :-)
