Wireless video transfer from Adam to TV

So, while I wait for my highly anticipated Adam to be delivered, I have begun searching necessary and "nice-to-have" accessories.

However, I have not found a way to wirelessly transfer video instead of using HDMI cables. The Adam is a portable device, and I would like it to be so, even when using it for video, presentations and such on my 1080p computer screen.

The closest device I found so far is this.

Pros about device mentioned above: Easy, relatively cheap and small. Can VGA instead of HDMI, which is nice for working with projectors.

Cons: Not HDMI port, may not support Android (i.e. not work on Adam)

Any wireless HDMI units I have seen to this point, are ridicously expensive and have too large transmitters to be used while walking around with the Adam

Any suggestions?

Ah, the Holy Grail of couch-potato entertainment...

As you've mentioned, current wireless HDMI solutions are either propiertary or not sold at consumer-friendly prices. I really haven't seen any wireless HDMI dongles that are light and compact.

Thus the excitement that is building up around Apple's AirPlay technology: magically streaming A/V from your iP* device to your AirPlay-enabled devices. If they hurry up and start building up the technology, people are gonna fall in love even more (if that's possible...) with their Apple stuff.

For the rest of us, there's USB-based solutions like the one that you linked from IOGEAR, Atlona, and other brands. So far I haven't heard of any of these products working with Android, so even then we're still limited with Adam.

We can only hope that the future gets here fast and we can browse, read an eBook, and stream an HD movie all from our Adam without having to ever get up from the couch (or your favorite boardroom chair)
