    Adam LCD-wifi vs Xoom-wifi

    Guys,

    Adam LCD-Wifi costs around 375$ + 100-150$ = 500$+ approximately.
    Xoom-wifi costs 600$.

Given this, I think going for Xoom wifi pays off a lot compared Adam LCD-wifi. It has 32GB flash, may be no HDMI ports (but do we really need??).

As more honeycomb tablets flood the market, the prices will go down sharply. For Adam, I think PQ will only be the selling point in the future.

    What do you say?

    Why 500$?
Ship cost only 50$ for all models... So 375+50 = 425$
Yes, of course there are some taxes price. for me it's will be +20% tax, as for everything that out from EU.

And XOOM, for latest rumors cost about 1000$

    Then you have a point.
But, well I prefer Adam, for his Pixel QI screen.

PS> I thin the prices in the end maybe little different, on store I mean. At lest XOOM version have better LCD screen, as I know.

And where does it say 600$ including local taxes? 600$ in the US could still mean 720$ where I live.

This price was just a placeholder. The actual price of the Xoom when it comes out on Feb 27th, will be $799 + Data (which you can cancel after the first month).

I suppose the wi-fi only version, which comes out in who knows when, will be $600, which is quite reasonable. All depends what you want to use your tablet for.

Thats only if you get a decent one with no blotching!

Adam lcd vs xoom lcd. i personally would buy the xoom over the adam.

I ordered in PO 2, a pixel qi one. reading the reviews it seems i will regret this but i know i gave it a try. I will be happy i tried and if its crap i can at least return it and take my experience of the pixel qi and look at the xoom when i arrives. I really dont want to cancel now and wonder what pixel qi was actually like!

I'm not really sure what people are expecting from Pixel Qi, but I never felt it was intended to have amazing image quality. While there are screens that will give you a better picture than Pixel Qi, that is not its selling point. It is for viewing in high light and sunlight and (to a lesser extent) to save battery life. At the same point, I've been using a Pixel Qi screen for years and I love it for outdoors stuff. It's maybe not quite as good for indoors stuff but I can't say it's every bothered me and I regularly use it both indoors and outdoors. It seems perfect for this kind of device. At the end of the day, if I want a cinema-esque video experience, I would always choose a TV over a tablet. At least the Adam can plug straight into a TV. Similarly, if I want to do professional photo editing, I wouldn't use a tablet either. These are just my own personal use cases, of course, but for watching video on the go or quick image editing the Pixel Qi screen is perfect. I would say more so than normal LCD screens because Pixel Qi screens can be used outside. Just my two cents. I suppose if outdoor use and mobility doesn't matter to you, there is a strong chance the Pixel Qi screen will be more of a hindrance than a feature. And don't get me wrong, it would be awesome if Pixel Qi screens looked just as good as regular LCDs

I think if it came down to it though, I'd still prefer an LCD Adam over an LCD Xoom. I just prefer the design of the Adam, plus it seems to do more than the Xoom for a cheaper price. To be honest, other than the Xoom having honeycomb right now (instead of having to wait a bit for the Adam to get it), I have little interest in the Xoom.

Speaking of price, whenever stuff comes to the U.K. (where I live) from America, they seem to just change the dollar sign to a pound sign, so there is a good chance the Xoom will be about £800 (approximately $1290) in the U.K. Seriously, this happens all the time. For example, the 16GB Wi-Fi iPad costs $499 in America. But here in the U.K., it costs £439 (approximately $708). Even with taxes and such, the Adam will probably be less than half the price of the Xoom by the time it reaches the U.K. This is speculation of course. No one knows how much the Xoom will cost when it gets to the U.K., but I'm certain it will be more expensive than in America.

You'll also be getting a brick and mortar store that you can go to, as well as a developed customer service system.

I really hope for this but doubt it. There's a ton of competition for smartphones and none of those are decreasing in price. People will pay these prices for these items.
