Available Options for buying Extra charger?

I am looking for a car charger for my adam, that hopefully will arrive in a weeks time.

There are quite a lot available with the correct power specs. (19v 2.1A), but some of them have different sizes plugs.

Could any of you, who have already received your Adam, share the measurments of the plug (diameter and length)?

Dont know if you'll ever need it. Check out the thread on this site called "battery life", luis84 did a test with his LCD wifi+3g model. 3g off,wi fi on, blacklight at 75%, and speakers at max. Played video for 11hrs 30min straight before it died.

I would get a car-charger if someone bothered making one. - Hopefully I'll be able to use it both for navigation and entertainment in the car. Speaking of, I am gonna be greatly annoyed if I get stuck with some american format on the regular charger - searches have given no new info on the issue, and even if it is besides the point of the thread, does anyone have any info on it? (I need Schuko - E or F. Going to an airport or ordering from a travel-store in order to get a relatively costly electronic device to work is just not an option).

I'm actually planning on making the Adam the center section of my truck's audio system, so hopefully this is tackled, or else I'll be tackling it myself when I get mine in. Will be making a custom mount for my Tacoma that will allow the Adam to be removed when not in the vehicle, but act as the heart of the audio/video system when placed in the custom mount.

If I understand correctly, Adam can only charge via the charger included in the package and NOT via USB.

I am planning to buy an extra charger.

Have anyone bought/tested chargers(except the included one) that work with Adam? Please provide the link if you bought it online.

I have been looking for an extra charger for my adam and wrote to the NI folks for it as the charger's label says that its output is 19V ---2.1A but the adam's lable puts its power source at 19V --- 1.5A. I asked them which charger will work with the adam and I got a response saying that the label is wrong - but it didn't specify on which (the charger or the adam)! I've asked them for a clarification but haven't got it yet.

I therefore looked up the FCC website (https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/...9;Y2GNI3421A01) and found in the Test Report that they've specified the input rating to be 19V---2.1A and the same output for the charger. That means that the power source on the adam has been incorrectly stated. The charger to buy for the adam is 19V --- 2.1A.

I understand that the Dell Inspiron Mini and the Asus Eee PC use the same charger. Therefore, if you buy one of their chargers, it would work.

You can use any power supply that has the same voltage and the Amps the same or higher. So if you have a power supply that is rated at 19V at 3A it will work with the Adam. The Adam will only pull the required power from the power supply which is a max of 2.1A so anything higher than that will be good. DO NOT use a lower rated power supply as you could damage the Adam, the power supply, or cause a fire depending on how well the power supply is made. I've seen some start electrical fires due to melting. Just so you know, I'm using one from a HP mini netbook that works great.
