StephenH, I just got my LCD+WiFi Adam today and I am having the standby problem. I have flashed every ROM available and haven't found a solution yet. I tried yours as a last effort before going to bed, but it did not appear to fix the problem either.

Is this actually a hardware problem?

is there a way to ensure it does not go into sleep?

I did read nearly a years worth of tegra2 bug log. The wake after suspend issue comes up many many times in different forms. Apparently there is a soft suspend and a deeper suspend. I couldn't understand exactly what it was all about as it is not my specialty. I could be wrong though I might have been looking at a routine process of error reporting in the tegra2 development process and may be the issues were resolved to satisfaction. I did find a query as late as jan 25 2011 from a tegra2 customer in the tegra dev board forum at nVidia. The admin of the blog asked the person to take the issue with hardware support in private as the boards were only for developer suppourt and not for board level support.
I did refer a part to someone who I thought could tell but he said it was not relevant. So I don't know what to make of it. On a gut level I feel that it is a firmware issue with tegra but I dont have much knowledge of these things.

Well, yes, I can make it not sleep/suspend, but that makes it a bit inconvenient to carry around, no? Essentially turn the sleep timeout to 30 minutes. But what if I want to pick it up and go to another room or read a book on my break while at work?

My gut feeling was that it was a firmware issue also, but how to fix it? The "soft" suspend vs "deep" makes sense, so it seems an update to either extend the timeout or turn off the "deep" suspend would be the fix. Any developer/android expert care to comment?

As a temporary fix I have gone into settings, Display and set screen time out to 30 mins. Then I set wifi timeout to NEVER.

Now to set it to "sleep", I just hold the search button in the top left, like you do to turn the Pixel QI off, but mine is an LCD. On StephenH's rom this turns off the LCD but does not put the Adam to sleep.

So, this conserves tons of power but avoids the sleep glitch. Maybe one day soon the glitch will be fixed.

Locking screen via widget and waking it up via h/w back button have been (mostly) working for me, only once I had to restart it as it refused to wake up. I have 3.5 hours of commuting to work every day and I hop between trains a lot. So, I do the sleeping/awaking cycle many times and at least its working for me. As you are using the same ROM (I am using LauncherPro though), your experience should be same as mine to call it a s/w problem? On the other hand, it can be a h/w problem..I wonder what might go wrong in the h/w front though!! Any idea folks?

Hi, I am having this problem too. I ordered Pixel Qi/3G Adam on Dec 9 and have received it on Feb 19. I have the standby problem right out of the box.

I have recorded my problem here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVKOLYmwuIs

I have sent emails to NI support but haven't received any reply. It's been 6 days since I sent the first email. Is there any other way to contact NI other than thorugh support@notionink.com?
