Thread: Force Closing

    Force Closing

Got my adam. Working through it.

So all of a sudden, I am getting a lot of force closing (mainly the browser).

Thoughts? I should have the new version of the software as I was the batch that went out last weekend.

that update didnt fix the force close issues. sorry pal. especially if you have a lot of panels, i find that the adam doesnt like that and tends to force close, browser and homescreen being most uncooperative

It's supposed to be like that. (NI's version of "you're holding it wrong")

You're best bet is to install launcher pro/a different browser or root it and use a different rom. Eden isn't quite ready yet.

the browser force closes when you install adobe flash on the device.

Agreed adobe flash makes the browser more sloppy.

The internal browser is a cool design but UNUSUABLE at the moment. Load Dolphin HD and run it. It runs WONDERFUL and does not close.

Eden is neat but NOT ready.

I just got an email from NI in response to the browser issue:

    Dear Notion Ink Adam User,

We have coded the browse to automatically close anytime you attempt to do anything useful. This is a measure we have taken to prevent you from using the browser in a productive way. We have always done our best to stop productivity in an innovative manner and we would not want you to have an undesireably pleasant browsing experience. Please do not expect to render a single website without a force close, this is just another wonderful Notion Ink innovation.

If you have any further questions or find the browser is working properly (oh no!) please contact our tech support team with this same exact email because we don't actually have different departments.

    Warm Regards,
    Rohan

^ Rofl that is not an actual email, on a serious note, I do love my Adam so far but that is a fair joke.

It seems like the latest version of flash is causing problems with the stock browser. Try uninstalling and re-install an older version. If that doesn't work I'll look into what notion hacks has running on their's.
