lets get one thing straight, i didnt make some sort of baseless accusation of NI. The information I got was straight from customer support and is confirmed by other members who also sent them the same question.

As to what rohan stated, that doesnt answer much for me. the lcd layer has the touch screen layer on it and thats the important layer. it is not matte but glossy and that confirms the first part of what I was told by "Jon." Now as far as its scratch resistance properties, Slashgear reported in their update two that it might scratch resistant as well but the quote itself is fragmented and doesnt state which layer is scratch resistant.

Ive sent NI another email asking them to specify this point of contention for me and will update you guys when I get an answer. If I'm wrong I'll openly admit it and apologize.

No need to apologize mada just chill. We all know where you are coming from.
But it did stir up some dust!
Perhaps it will make is remember why we were impressed by Adam initially ie the attention to details Rohan and team have. You solve one issue it affects another aspect finding a balance and topping it with innovative solutions is Rohan's forte.
Technology is more complex than a wishlist as this episode illustrates. It sure will make me appreciate the Adam screen more.

Another confusing and unclear explination from NI which could be interpreted in a number of ways, I like the way they usually start "To clear things up..."
Adam LCD + Wifi ordered just before the rush - Still trying to decide if it was lunacy or genius.
Lunacy it is - order cancelled 07/02/11, after so much anticipation I cant see me being anything but dissapointed

    I'm confused....
This photo is of the current one on Rohan's desk:

compare it to the apparent matte-ness of this earlier photo:

Is this a different model, or is that matte finish in the second (earlier) photo what the stick-on film looks like once it's (perfectly) installed?... (or was this some prototype matte surface glass we were hoping to receive?) Just asking...

(sorry if the links to the photos are huge)

The second photo is a render, i.e. it is not a real photo but made on a computer

The second photo does not look like a render to me, in fact it does look as if the second picture may have a screen protector on it. One reason I think this may be is that it looks like a possible air bubble at top center of face plate.
I guess in a couple of days the confusion about this will be cleared up. I was hoping for a matte type screen but not at the expense of color saturation or clarity. This may be the answer that NI came up with to satisfy both camps. There was a lot of talk about color saturation earlier.

I guess Rohan's explanation throws everything I know about light refractions, reflections, and logic out of the window.
But oh well, that is just me... I wonder why none of my other device manufacturers did this /s

Most people say that the protective film washes out the colors. What is your opinion on this?? And is it really old resistant?
