I have an Archos 101 & 70 that allows tethering to most android and iphones but will not tether to blackberrys. Does anyone have a clue if the Adam will have the same issue? I am thinking of returning the 70 and putting in a preorder for an Adam. I have a company provided blackberry and do not want to purchase another phone plan or mifi and have to carry around another device.
Thanks
Dan

i believe it does.... ive looked into doing just that and android cannot tether to an adhoc network which is the kind of network almost all phones and most dedicated 3G to wifi hotspots...

Afaik, 2.3 doesn't support connection to adhoc networks (only to ap mode / infrastructure) and I can gueruntee that this is true in all previous versions of android and I don't think it was fixed. This prevents them to tether to their phones because phon es (even rooted ones) provide only adhoc networks. Furthermore I believe that only a few of the dedicated hotspots allow for ap mode connection.

I as well use a BB at times. I was hoping there would be an app that would turn my device into a wireless router and share my data connection. I have a feature like this on a few of my windows mobile phone and it works like a charm.
