I finally got my Adam. Rest assured I was thrilled to get it. On the down side I had to pay an extra NZ$200 (US$150) to clear customs. :-( This was a bit of a downer but it had to be done.
Pros
1) Impressed with the build quality. It's nice and sleek and looks like a professional unit. Has definite show off merit
2) Sound quality is excellent. Played some music on it and the speakers sounded good
3) Video recording - the actual video display while recording looks grainy but on play back the quality is fine
4) Nice smooth scrolling. No lag witnessed thus far
5) Brightness control is excellent. I use it at a lower setting and don't get that eye strain you get with lcd monitors. Almost feels like you're reading a book
6) Pixel Qi for pdfs ... awesome. Nuff said
Cons
1) The touch screen isn't very responsive. - I got quite frustrated this morning typing out a simple message on Facebook. At one stage I had to hit "space" 5 times before it picked it up. I find the buttons on the edge of the page seem the most unresponsive
2) The face book app does not work. I have to access it via the browser
3) Default browser is very lame. Cannot install flash on it so no youtube at the moment :-(
4) No Market access so can only get some freeware apks
5) Side buttons (home, pixel qi, back etc) - I'm finding these a bit clunky to use. They're not particularly responsive and get in the way if you're using the device portrait wise
6) In the browser only a small portion of the url entry field is displayed. In fact I think this is the case for all apps. It appears the top few pixels are being cropped.
Overall I'm so-so at the moment. I think most of my cons are software related so I'm hoping they'll go away once I get better applications etc. Also I'm new to android so I'm still learning the tweaks necessary to get the most out of my device.
