May be this will work on Adam too as it is or with some modifications. Any comments or thoughts?

I remember reading on nvidia tegra 2 forums that Ubuntu 9.x was working last year. But Ubuntu 10.x needs some xorg drivers and other pre-compiled drivers that nvidia has to provide. That will make the touch screen work with Ubuntu.

Hope they release it soon.

I've been waiting for this too. There's a thread about it over at XDA Developers

That would be so helpful if this works on the Adam.

Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwahl) is geared towards mobile devices (Arm support, multi-touch) and the unity user interface looks like it's been created for tablets and touch screen devices.

Hope to see the netbook edition for Arm processors come out in April launch and onto Adam soon after.

I'm a bit late to the thread but cheers for the links. I'll be watching this closely as this is what I bought the Adam specifically for. I just want to be able to do my regular nerding outdoors!
What are the rest of you aiming for? dual boot or full replacement?

We are in the same boat. I would love a dual boot, just in case. But my thinking is that Ubuntu with one of the Netbook remix themes would be awesome. Nice big buttons for launching apps, but Ubuntu underneath.

Then throw in a USB/ethernet adapter, and you have a notebook, but with a nice small size and touch screen.

RayMan from NIH is working with a custom kernel and has got the basics up and running. So there's some hope.
