I, being the absent minded person that I am, will no doubt end up writing on my adam with a sharpie using this! I'm sorry, but I think capping a sharpie with this is just an accident waiting to happen. The other caps are bit more reasonable, but still...

While I get you.. and you are aware of your absent mindedness more than i am.. but.. i would think that the marker is really just to give you the feel of a marker.. so you dont have to actually use that marker ever again. As a matter of fact if its really that much of an issue where you know you will take it off in mere habit, then you should just remove the marker.. from the marker.. so if you take it off.. which I think you would realize since its larger than a normal cap plus has a point on top which would already make you think it doesnt have a cap on it.. ahh i dont know i just feel like you have to be a bit more than just absent minded to mess this up....

If you ever did get sharpie on the screen, a small amount of 91% isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) will wipe it right off and will not hurt the ITO layer on the touchscreen. "Permanent marker" isn't really so permanent.

Recycle your dried up markers. Problem solved. Works for me!

Really cool idea. I pre-ordered one as it looks like the best stylus available for a tablet right now.

Okay... I can see using it on a dried up sharpie... I have a question though... Do you think the conductive rubber styli are better than the conductive foam ones?

Just thinking about the words "rubber" introduce a more sturdy image than "foam"
I have a feeling that the "foam tips" would flatten pretty easily. That doesn't mean that the rubber tips wouldn't flatten either but I think it would need to have been used for a while to do so.

However, I don't know which one would be more responsive. :(

I'm thinking that the rubber would be more controllable. The cheap ones I have tried look like rubber, but they are very squishy. If the rubber is harder, I think it would allow you to do longer continuous strokes, which is what gives you the feel of pen/pencil on paper.

I'm wondering why they couldn't just use a bit more plastic and make a sort of replica of the sharpie body and the cap together without the ink involved? I mean the thing is 20 bucks with 10 dollars shipping. I live in Chicago and would rather pic mine up at that price lol. $30 for just the cap attachment is just ridiculous...how about just designing a whole stylus at that price?

But I do agree with you guys, a non-stick rubber tip would be real nice.
